1. Competency in water (water skills)

The main purpose of using entry techniques in scuba diving is to enter into the water with scuba equipment easily and comfortably and avoid injury or loss of one of the scuba diving equipment when it enters the water. Here are the wading and seated entry techniques in scuba diving:
Wading Entry Technique
The wading entry technique is the technique of entering into the water by walking from the shore. At first glance, it seems easy to use this technique, but don’t forget you have used scuba equipment ranging from BCD, regulator, tube, diving mask, snorkel, fins, and ballast. Make sure all scuba equipment starts from the BCD, the regulator, and the tube is installed on your body and work perfectly. Don’t forget to use diving and snorkel masks correctly. Fill in the BCD with enough air to make sure you stay afloat when walking toward the middle of the sea.
If you use fin, make sure you walk back towards the middle of the sea or you can use the booties first and tie the fin to your BCD strap. Walk slowly towards the middle of the sea. Don’t worry if you suddenly drown. BCD will keep you afloat. Once you are in the middle of the sea where your feet are not touching the seabed, use your fin and swim in the middle of the sea using a back-turtle style (such as the backstroke with the tube below). After reaching the right coordinates, release your snorkel and replace it with your mouthpiece. You need to make sure all your diving equipment is properly installed in your body and functioning perfectly. If there is no problem, give the guide or your friend a clear code and start reducing the air in the BCD so so the process goes slowly.
Seated Entry Technique
Seated Entry technique is commonly known as water entry technique by sitting. This technique is commonly used when you learn to dive in a swimming pool or when you are diving with the initial entry of a boat. This technique is very simple, it is done by sitting on the edge of the pool/boat with the foot in the water first. Then enter the water slowly by placing the support of your body on both hands in the wall of the pool or on the edge of the boat. After entering into the water, fill the BCD with enough air to make sure you stay afloat without the need to pad the feet. Make sure all your scuba devices are properly installed and functioning properly. If there is no problem, give the guide or your friend a clear code and start reducing the air in the BCD so the same process like the previous entry technique goes slowly as well.
